Joanne Capritti is the principal of Apriori Learning, a consultancy committed to performance improvement through creative learning design and implementation. Her practice has largely focused on sales force effectiveness and sales-marketing alignment. Her experience spans 15 years and includes a range of operational and strategic positions from Facilitator to Designer to Managing Director and Global Practice Leader. Joanne’s experience along this continuum has resulted in a rare ability to think strategically while driving results.
Since 2000, Joanne has supported clients in the public and private
sectors, non-profit and for-profit. Her initiatives have ranged
from strategic consultation with corporate officers to designing
and delivering training programs and full curricula. Emphasizing
results, Joanne is committed to helping leaders stay connected
to the real work of their organizations while supporting learning
across operations. Her priority is to see an initiative through
to implementation.
In 1998, Joanne assumed the role of Global Practice Leader of Learning
Technologies and Standards for the American Management Association
(AMA). In this position, she was responsible for the implementation
of global best practices in learning design for all of AMA’s
courseware, live and electronic. In addition to this strategic
role, Joanne was directly responsible for AMA’s North American
product development and fulfillment operations for both public
seminars and custom corporate services – a combined business
that drove over 80% of AMA’s global revenue.
In 1999, Joanne was invited to work directly for the AMA’s new CEO in support of a global reorganization of the 75-year-old company. Joanne designed an operational alignment process and co-facilitated the meetings with the CEO in each of AMA’s global centers, synthesizing the outcomes and working with the senior executives to align their operations around the new direction. Joanne’s diplomacy and cultural sensitivity led to additional responsibilities as a liaison for AMA’s partners in Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to joining AMA in 1997, Joanne honed her experience at Canon.
There, she created the first formal training development operation
within Canon’s Sales Training Division. This division developed
all instruction for Canon’s Office Systems Group including
classroom training, video, multimedia, and print. Her team supported
the marketing operations of five client divisions through all aspects
of product launch and post-launch support, a role that required
the integration of a pragmatic understanding of sales execution
and an appreciation for marketing strategy.
Joanne graduated from Rutgers University in 1988 with two bachelor's degrees in business management and marketing. She is also a certified Organization Development (OD) Practitioner through the NTL Institute, a credential acquired via an 18-month international program attended in Brussels, Belgium. She draws on the aggregate of her experience and these credentials to help her clients leverage learning to drive outcomes.
